What if every year you invested in the highest-dividend stock in the S&P 500 instead of just buying the index? 👀 So I ran another experiment. For 20 years, I found the S&P 500 company with the highest dividend yield going into each year. Then I invested: $1,000 into that stock. $1,000 into the S&P 500. Every dividend reinvested. No voluntary selling. And I held through whatever happened next — including dividend cuts, restructurings and bankruptcies. Some of these stocks were yielding 10%+ when they were selected. Sounds incredible. But there’s a catch. A dividend yield can rise because the dividend is high… or because the stock price is collapsing. So was buying the market’s highest dividend an incredible income strategy — or did those huge yields sometimes come with a warning sign? Watch before you decide. 👇 And tell me: How high does a dividend yield have to get before YOU start getting suspicious? Historical backtest for educational purposes only. Past performance does not guarantee future results. #Investing #StockMarket #Dividends #SP500 #PersonalFinance
