@upspiral.life: Here's a neuroscience trick for when someone annoys you. Nobody can make you annoyed, the energy is in you. And that is good news. Follow me, then comment UPSPIRAL and I'll send you some more information about my brand new manifestation program, the Up Spiral Lab. You can also click the link in my bio. Every time you indulge annoyance, you train your brain to get annoyed faster. Neuroplasticity 101. You build new neural connections that reinforce annoyance. Flip it with this 4-step hack. One. Hand on heart. This activates oxytocin and flips your body out of fight mode. An instant free chemistry flip. Two. Smile. Yes, even a fake smile. Smiling lights up the brain's reward circuits and dials down stress chemistry. Your nervous system cannot stay fully annoyed when your face insists on joy. Three. Zoom out. Will this matter in 10 minutes? What about 10 days? What about 10 years? Will it matter on your last day on Earth? No? Then stop renting it space in your head. Four. Appreciate. Find three things to appreciate about the other person, however small. Appreciation scrambles the annoyance pattern completely. Try staying annoyed while you are busy noticing what is good. It does not work. An annoyance is basically a free gym membership for building patience. And patience practiced long enough looks a lot like power.
