For me, it’s a BPO company and don’t get me wrong. My boss and teammates make it bearable but the calls and the shifting schedules are so draining and I feel like I’m becoming so detached because of how much I have become numb to being empathetic when customers call and verbally abuse me and act so immature when I am doing my best to help them or give them a way to seek help.

It really depends on the workplace, tbh. Once you gain experience sa Starbucks, you can use that as an advantage whether you pursue a cruise ship career or stay land-based. At the end of the day, sobrang baba talaga ng salary dito sa Pinas, so it’s smart to build experience that can open up better opportunities abroad.
