@cbsla: Pacoima high school students are cleaning up their neighborhood, shaping a newly passed law in Los Angeles along the way. CBS LA spoke with students from Bert Corona Charter High School who led a community cleanup, picking up drug paraphernalia discarded in public spaces, and then took their concerns to City Hall in support of banning nitrous oxide sales at tobacco and cannabis shops. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Los Angeles City Council voted 14-0 to approve the ban. The students are part of Pathways to Prevention, a youth-led substance use prevention program with the San Fernando Valley Partnership.
