@allaroundvegas: The man discovered inside a barrel at Lake Mead in 2022 finally has a name: Edward Lelburian Jackson, known as “Buddy.” Clark County officials announced his identity Thursday, Oct. 15, more than four years after the discovery. Jackson was from Arkansas and is believed to have been in his mid-to-late 50s when he died. His remains were found near Hemenway Harbor on May 1, 2022, as falling water levels exposed previously submerged shoreline. Authorities determined he died from a gunshot wound to the head. DNA testing and forensic genealogy helped investigators establish his identity after years of work. Police believe Jackson was killed in the early 1980s. His family described him as someone who traveled frequently, but investigators still have unanswered questions about why he was in the Las Vegas area and who killed him. Despite years of speculation, police say they have no information supporting a connection to organized crime. The homicide investigation remains open. Anyone who knew Jackson or has information about his life or travels can contact LVMPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. #AllAroundVegas #LakeMead #LasVegasNews #ColdCase #greenscreen
