@fantasybasketballinsider: With the NBA season approaching quickly, here are the players who I believe can improve their fantasy stock a lot this season. These players are either in better positions due to trades/injuries compared to last year or are younger guys who can see a jump in production due to overall development. Breakout Reasoning: -Tatum (BOS): Tatum sat out for the majority of the 2025-26 season as Jaylen Brown saw the wolf share of volume in his breakout season. He returned early from his Achilles tear, but struggled as he didn't look 100%. With Brown gone, Tatum will absorb even more volume as the go-to option. He's also over a year removed from his Achilles tear, which is why he's due for positive regression. Tatum has been a top 10 fantasy option over the last few years, but I believe this will be the season that he can enter the upper echelon in fantasy basketball -Flagg (DAL): Flagg had an amazing rookie year as he finished as a top 20 fantasy rookie all time. He closed the year extremely strong (top 20 in FPPG) and will continue to be the best all around option for Dallas as he’ll look to make a sophomore leap -Garland (LAC): With Ingram out for a while, Garland will be the primary playmaking option for the Clippers. He showed flashes of fantasy appeal over the past few seasons, but has had his upside limited form sharing the court with Donovan Mitchell (another ball dominant guard) when he was in Cleveland. Now that he’s with the Clippers, Garland will see the wolf share of volume as the offense will run through him -Kessler (LAL): Kessler was at the start of a breakout campaign through 5 games before a torn labrum cost him his 2025-26 season. Fortunately for Kessler, he’s in an even better situation for fantasy this year. He asked out of Utah and was sent to the Lakers in a sign and trade deal. Kessler will operate as the main roller for LA as he'll benefit from running PNRs with Doncic. Additionally, Kessler’s minutes should also increase (around 30 over the last two years) as the Lakers are thin at center -Miller (CHA): Miller will likely be the primary beneficiary of the Ball trade. He showed flashes of upside, but never saw a large on-ball role. With there being a ton of available volume, look for Miller to reap the reward as he’ll likely see a sizable boost in scoring for a Hornets squad looking to find a new identity -Jerome (MEM): Through 15 games, Jerome was the middle of a breakout before his season was cut short. He missed a large portion of last year with separate calf and ankle injuries. For his 2026-27 campaign he enters healthy and will be off of a minutes restriction, which gives him even more upside. With Morant gone, Jerome should have full reign at PG as an emerging playmaker -Reid (CHA): Reid had been a staple off of Minnesota’s bench over the past few seasons. That will no longer be the case as he’ll have a full-time starting role with Charlotte. Reid possesses all around appeal and has the scoring capabilities to thrive with the Hornets -Knueppel (CHA): Yes, he’s dealing with an injury to begin the year (hamstring). However, Kon is in a prime spot to see a huge increase in his workload. Knueppel showcased promise as a rookie due to the vacated volume from Ball’s departure and will carry that same upside when he returns this year -Ware (MIL): Ware has been limited from a fantasy perspective to begin his career as he's been behind Adebayo in the pecking order. Now with Milwaukee, Ware should see a boost in upside as he won’t have to play alongside Adebayo or come off the bench. Overall, this move will allow him to have far more upside as the usage should be far more consistent on a rebuilding squad Breakout reasoning continued ⬇️ Honorable Mentions: Zach Edey (MEM) Payton Pritchard (BOS) Rui Hachimura (LAC) Gui Santos (GSW) Khaman Maluach (PHX) #fantasybasketball #fantasybasketballtips #fantasybasketballadvice #breakout

Breakout Reasoning (1)- Harper (SAS): Harper impressed as a rookie despite coming off the bench for the majority of the season. In the playoffs, played at an extremely high level as San Antonio made a finals run. Harper only played 22.6 minutes last year, but should see a bigger role given he’s over-performed whenever seeing extended playing time. If the Spurs opt to start three guards, look for Harper to take full advantage as he could usurp Fox in the pecking order. Even if he comes off the bench, Harper will be much more involved as an elite downhill playmaker. -Kuminga (MIN): Kuminga was highly touted to begin his career but never got on track with Golden State. After getting traded to Atlanta, he showed upside as an all around wing (but still came off the bench). Now that he’s with Minnesota, Kuminga will have a starting role due to the lack of wing depth for the Timberwolves (Randle and Reid traded). Kuminga is in line to see his best season yet after having limited fantasy appeal to begin his career -Sharpe (BKN): For the entirety of his career, Sharpe has operated as a bench option. That will change this season as Claxton was traded to Chicago. Sharpe has first dibs at the starting 5 spot (Brooklyn signed Wagner in FA), but should be able to keep the role the entire year. He's displayed high upside in limited PT during his previous seasons, which is why I'm confident he can be an effective fantasy option -Wallace (OKC): Wallace has primarily come off the bench to begin his career, but has been an amazing all around contributor when given the opportunity. Coming into this season, Dort’s departure opens up a roster spot which leaves him and Mitchell as potential starters. Wallace is the better defender and can play off the ball, which is why I see him starting and seeing all around improvement this season

Breakout Reasoning (2)- Demin (BKN): Egor showed flashes of all around appeal during his rookie season. While the Nets did add depth in the form of Randle and Brown Jr., Demin is still the closest thing Brooklyn has to a true PG. During Summer League, Demin continued to exhibit strong all around capabilities, which is why I can see that carrying over into this year as Brooklyn resumes their rebuild -Isaiah Jackson (LAC): When Jackson was traded to LA last season, I was very bullish on his upside, but he ended up disappointing as he played under 20 MPG and came off the bench in every one of his games with the Clippers. Coming into this year, Konan Niederhauser is hurt which opens up the starting role for Jackson. Lopez could see some usage off the bench, but Jackson ultimately has far more upside as a rebounder/shot blocker assuming he can stay out of foul trouble. Jackson is a worthwhile dart throw given the potential value he can offer if the all around volume improves
