my parents have the same attitude, and gave me a lot of grief about my first tattoo. once we were out furniture shopping since i was moving house, and the salesman bumped into me on accident and i yelped and explained he’d hit my fresh tattoo. and this mid-50s very professional man said “oh cool!”, rolled up his sleeves and showed me the ones he had on his forearms. my dad looked STEAMED, it was so rewarding

My dad’s best friend asked me if I thought God would approve of my tattoos. I told him God had tattoos so yeah, he’d be fine with it. When he didn’t believe me, I showed him the section that in Revelation that says he has our names written on his arm and that pens didn’t exist but tattoos did. He didn’t have a response to that and I went on my merry way.

Was being super pleasant to a dude and his wife, was about to tell his wife how complimentary he had been of her before she came up and he decides to make a snarky joke about "all my piercings" (I have a nose ring and some earrings 😅🤣) so I mean mugged him while I silently finished the transaction. The next time he came in, he was surprised I remembered him and I commented I generally remember people who mock me to my face. He doesn't make shitty, degrading jokes anymore 🤷

I asked about visible (arm) tattoos while at a job interview for quite a classy London tourist site. The interviewer was very confused about why I asked that. I then realised she had arm tattoos that I had been too nervous to notice earlier 😅. And yes, I got the job 💁🏾♀️

My first tattoo is on my wrist, I got it right after I worked a job that was ‘no visible tattoos’. I got it to promise myself I’d never work somewhere like that again. Haven’t had a problem finding employment 🤷♀️
