@englishbagels: Mission College 10/14. Following up on my last post this is my most recent match. just gonna type a bunch again. I really want to talk about my expectations for myself this season because I'm feeling it all starting to click in my head. I think I understand why I'm wrestling, and I have clear goals to achieve and ways to achieve them. Going into this season will be my 5th year wrestling. I started my senior year of highschool at Dublin highschool (go gaels!) and I was lucky enough that SJSU had a club team that went out and competed. I've honestly felt like such a shitter wrestler for lack of a better term my whole career. For the last 2 year it's been different. I had 2 amazing practice partners who taught me so much and pushed me. I finally felt like I've started to understand wrestling. SJSU also had a full time coach for the first time and it really made a difference because I felt like he wanted me to succeed. This trend of having great people around me has only continued over the last year. I've been more involved coaching at my highschool practices last winter and last summer and I have learned so much from that experience. My highschoolers also inspire me to work so much harder. I want to see them succeed, and I can feel they want to see me succeed. I want to achieve an NCWA national title this year for myself but also to make all these people who have supported me proud. At mission I wrestled 165. The difference in how I felt at 157 vs 165 was crazy, I felt stronger less tired and more just mentally focused. I learned a lot from this match and I achieved the goals I set after chabot. My goal this match was to take more shots and be more offensive minded. If I want to keep winning going forward I need to be dominate on my feet and confident in my ability to finish. I feel like I lose nothing in the next few months from being more offensive win or lose because it will all just make me more experienced for nationals in March. ALSO practice the week leading up to this match felt electric I had a game plan and I've started to dial in on the moves I really need to work on going forward this season. As a team SJSU took another lose 38-18. I'm still so proud of my teammates, and the vibe I got afterwards wasn't a sad boohoo vibe. Everyone seemed like they wanted to work and I could feel the passion when talking with a lot of them. This was also the first time my girlfriend, who is the goat and filmed my match, got to see my wrestle in person. I am so lucky to have her in my life and she has always been so supportive of me wrestling despite how much time I devote to it. Second pic is one of me blowing her a kiss after the win 😝 which felt pretty good not gonna lie. Final thing I mess with this ref. Asked us what our favorite topping was on pizza at the predual coin flip. Mushroom the best!
