Why would anyone hinge their decorative choices on the tastes of hypothetical future buyers? Imagine living in a featureless white box for 20-30 years all to save doing some work before selling. Work you’d have to do anyway because even landlord white will need touchups over the years and by then the grey fake wood laminate floors will be dated and unpopular with buyers.

"what about resale value" what about buying a house/flat to grow old in and to not have to move out of except for maybe an old folks home? resale value can be the problem of the people that inherit the place from me when I move into the graveyard.

My mum just bought a house. She made sure Abe was included. The house was so whimsy and artfully MCM. They muted the art in the listing photos, once she saw it in person, it was the exact “weird” she adored!
