@inventionontt: Original Video Credit: IG/carline_detailing_ An ordinary metal bucket makes it easy to hear how much difference sound-deadening materials can make. Untreated metal produces a sharp, hollow ringing sound when tapped, but after applying vibration-damping sheets and adding acoustic foam, the sound becomes noticeably duller and quieter. The comparison reveals just how much noise comes from the metal vibrating. The two materials work in different ways. Vibration-damping sheets reduce the metal's tendency to ring by converting some of its vibrational energy into heat. Acoustic foam absorbs part of the sound bouncing around inside the bucket, reducing reflections. Together, they help control both the vibrations of the metal and the noise traveling through the enclosed space. Similar materials are commonly installed inside vehicle doors, floors, and body panels to reduce rattles and unwanted noise. Thin metal panels can vibrate in response to road impacts, engine movement, and powerful speakers, sometimes interfering with audio clarity. Controlling those vibrations can make a vehicle quieter and help its sound system perform better without replacing the speakers. #shorts #Science #education #learn #invention

If I lined the inside of my car with this material, would it make the noise isolate?

not that it doesnt actually reduce noise sound deadining is amazing but when you put the bucket over the phone you held down the padded version, you should hold both down in fairness even if the outcome is the same

My company invented a paint version of this 30 years ago. Foam and padding can get wet and deteriorate. Water based paint doesn’t ✨
