@buffalonymortgage: 🏡 Your Mortgage Payment Can Go UP… Even With a Fixed Rate! 😳 Just because you can afford your mortgage payment today doesn't mean it'll stay the same tomorrow! 🏡 Property taxes and homeowners insurance can increase, even if you have a fixed-rate mortgage. My advice? Don't stretch your budget to the max when buying a home. Leave yourself some breathing room for life's unexpected expenses! Buy smart. Budget wisely. Live within your means! #MortgageTips #Homeownership #FirstTimeHomeBuyer #BuffaloNYMortgage #MortgageAdvice
That’s a huge increase in taxes though, it’s not right!

I don’t have an escrow and my house payment stays the same. I do have to save money for taxes, insurance and HOA but I make it every year.

The payment never went up. It’s the escrow that changes. I don’t know why people crash out. This is literally gone over when you’re closing. If it is easier for you to manage quarterly just remove escrow. That’s what I did.

I put $20/check into a high interest savings account to help with any escrow increases/shortages. We pay our other insurance in full but still put that monthly payment into that same account. We get more in interest, break the payments up and get the PIF discounts.

21 years into our house and payment has gone up $660 since 2020. 2.9% interest but we’re almost done. We have 6-7 years left on the loan and about 175k left. We’re now at 2700 a month

The mortgage didn’t go up. The taxes and insurance went up. You need to investigate before you buy how much your taxes are going to up for buy the house at that price.

Let's be clear. Your mortgage does not go up. Your property taxes go up. So that's why you do not put them in your mortgage, separate them. My mortgage has never gone up. It's the same payment for the last twenty years.I pay my property taxes separately

Wouldn't be better if she get a loan to pay off the house to have less interest? And have a consistent payment?

The cost of goods & services rises every year. Your insurance WILL increase. Might be smalll. Might be big. But its NEVER going to decrease consistently.

Technically the payment didn’t go up. Property tax and insurance went up. If she really has a fixed rate. Right?

Yes but you have to start asking, WHY! Why do our taxes go up in such a fashion we are sticker shocked by it? Why does insurance, with no claim, no change to policy, no upgrades to the home, yet it still rises?

no. the banks can't just change a fixed rate. what can change is the escrow, Insurance and property taxes. you fixed rate can not be changed. if they did this, it would be a lawsuit.

$1600 😲. We bought our home in 2019 with our payment of $1200. We do a gap payment each years so it never goes up much. We put 20% down to.
