@cast.iron.cpr: Seasoning cast iron is a process, not a flavor. It’s not the bacon you cooked for breakfast, the steak you seared last week, or what your grandma cooked 50 years ago. 😂 Seasoning is a layer of polymerized oil bonded to the iron. It helps protect against rust and builds the foundation for a naturally nonstick cooking surface. Thin coats, proper heat, and patience. That’s the process. You’re protecting the iron, not adding flavor to your food. Let’s break down how it’s done. #creatorsearchinsights #castironskilletseasoning #CastIron #CastIronSeasoning #CastIronRestoration

One of mine doesn’t exactly look matte when dry, it is kind of glossy and the coloration is like the other person’s who posted a photo. When dry and cold though it is smooth to the touch with no sticky spots. Is it worth fully stripping and starting over or is it better to just keep doing what I’m already doing which is basically the care you already demonstrated?

Hi! Could you please advise me on how to restore this? I’ve tried scrubbing and seasoning it, but it still looks like this. Or should I discard and replace it?
