@thecookconnection: Today I stood with Mayor Karen Bass and Black community leaders to demand an apology from Nithya Raman on her comments referring to policing under former LAPD Chief Daryl Gates as being the gold standard for LA. Thousands of young black Angelenos were locked up and targeted under Gates’ leadership and our city needs a leader who understands that history. It’s clear Nithya Raman is not fit to lead a city like Los Angeles after making tone deaf comments and no real understanding of the community she is meant to be serving. Make sure you all vote. Karen Bass for Mayor 🗳️ #losangeles #karenbass #politics #la
