Five days in Ilocos, and what a beautiful experience it has been. ❤️ More than just a trip, it was an opportunity to experience real provincial life, witness the beautiful traditions and culture of the Ilocanos, and most importantly, see and feel the kind of bond that makes a family. I’m grateful to have learned more about my husband’s roots, the Agustin family, and how their life began. Hearing their stories about the old days, how everything started, and how they grew together made me appreciate even more the simple yet meaningful life they have built. There’s something so humbling about their way of living, and the warmth and hospitality they showed us made these past five days truly special. We came to Ilocos to pay our last respects to their beloved Lola, but we went home carrying so much more than memories. We got to experience their traditions, understand their culture, and become part of their family moments, even just for a little while. And somewhere along those stories, I found myself wishing that Papa Edison were still here. I wish he could have been with us, sharing those stories, seeing his family together, and witnessing how the family he helped build continues to grow. From everything I’ve heard, he must have been such a wonderful man and father. A beautiful reminder that knowing where your person comes from also means understanding a little more of who they are. Thank you, Ilocos and the Agustin family, for the warmth, stories, laughter, and memories. My heart is full. ❤️ #IlocosNorte #Piddig #AgustinFamily #Family #Ilocanos
