@taylorkratzer: They don’t warn you that the weight and the gift can arrive in the same box. Sometimes your highest of highs and lowest of lows occur simultaneously. I recently opened up about my precious grandparents and my grandfathers struggle with Alzheimer’s. The night I posted that life update, I received a call that we lost my beautiful aunt, completely unexpectedly. This one hit my family hard. It’s been very complex sorting through the emotions and experiences life has thrown at me this past month. Going from such an extreme career accomplishment seeing my face in Sephora in Times Square, straight into one of darkest chapters I’ve had in years, has challenged my mental strength in ways I haven’t experienced in a very long time. On one hand, life feels incredibly precious… what do these silly little makeup videos on the internet really mean. Yet on the other, BECAUSE life IS so precious, all of my little girl dreams are right here at my finger tips and I feel an intense urgency to chase them at full speed. Makeup has always been my escape. It feels like a form of art, a moment of reflection and expression. I’ve discovered that maybe the gift arrives at the same time as the weight to get you through. 🤍
