Nobody talks enough about grieving the version of yourself you were before infertility. 🤍 Before the hormones. Before the injections. Before the weight gain, the bloating, the surgeries, the heartbreak, and the countless times you convinced yourself this would finally be it. I used to be a bikini competitor. I spent years building a body I was proud of, and somewhere along this journey, I stopped recognizing the girl looking back at me in the mirror. And the hardest part? I gave up so much of myself trying to become a mother, and I still don’t have a baby in my arms. Some days, I miss her. I miss her confidence, her discipline, her clothes fitting, and the way she felt in her own skin. But then I remind myself that she didn’t disappear. She’s still here. She’s just fighting for something she wants more than anything she’s ever wanted before. Tonight, I noticed my pajama pants fitting differently. Something so small, but after everything my body has endured, it felt like a little victory. I’m slowly finding my way back to myself, physically and mentally. Not because I hate the body I’m in, but because I want to feel like me again. And one day, God willing, I’ll look back at this season with a baby in my arms and realize just how strong this body was, even when I felt like it was failing me. For now, I’m proud of the girl who keeps showing up. The girl who gets out of bed, moves her body, takes her medications, wipes her tears, and somehow finds the courage to keep believing. I miss the girl I was, but I’m learning to love the woman I’m becoming. She’s been through hell, and she still hasn’t given up on becoming someone’s mama. 🤍 #ivf #ivfjourney #fertility #infertility #ttc
