@delna.aaa: Not bashing the hairstylist at all because my hair came out SO good, but I do wish there was a little more consideration for us working girlies Taking time off, driving there, and trying to work around appointment changes isn’t always easy when you have a 9-5. I’m genuinely grateful she was still able to take me, and I love how my hair turned out! I just needed to vent because being a working girlie and trying to stay cute is a full time job on its own :/ #fyp
I don’t think hairstylists understand we have jobs and obligations too.

As an Esthetician I genuinely wonder if they teach Cosmetologists time management skills, bc I’ve seen multiple videos where this is the common denominator 🤦🏾♀️

As a hairstylist, I definitely understand your point of view as the client. As the stylist we should all be holding ourselves to the standard that we uphold the Client to, and I feel like a lot of stylist tend to not do that. They only apply their terms to the client. Even though she was able to do your hair, even though she still took you, which was great but the communication could’ve been better. I would’ve been irritated getting my hair done an hour or two hours after the initial appt especially that i took an hour off of work to be there. I never want conflict other people’s time.

Nothing irritates me more than taking off work early then watching my appointment (dental, doctor, hair, etc) pass by a time that I could’ve easily left work for at my regular off time and been to the appointment.

I think the biggest problem is clients keep accepting the reschedules. Say no and make them start sending those mandatory deposits back. It's a inconvenience to not have your hair done but they won't stop until they start losing money.

Girl do I have a story. I was going to get my sew in pressed out from the stylist that did it. At that time I was going to her a few months and this was my second sew in. My service takes 20-30 minutes tops. My appt was at 5pm I got off work and went straight to the appointment, with the traffic it was over an hour drive. She texted me at 4:30 to ask me if I can come at 6. At the point I’m up the street so it’s a no, if she needed me to come later she should’ve communicated that earlier so I could go home instead of coming straight to her. I sat there for 2 hours waiting on her and when she finally got to me she rushed through my hair. She asked after an hour and half of waiting if I could come back tomorrow at 10am, uhm no ma’am I work from 7am to 3:30 and I look like a damn rooster. What really set me off was her saying her first client was 2 hours late so that messed up her schedule. Why tf would you accept a client that was 2 hours late for their appointment and inconvenience the rest of your clients. To me you’re saying that client, her time, and her service was way more important than the rest of ours. I loved how she would do my hair but I never went back.

Genuinely interested who the intended clientele is these days. I see more and more hairstylist not working weeks or evenings when working women quite literally don’t have much flexibility to take time off for a hair appointment.

Mind you, old school stylist would see people til 8pm on a Friday/Saturday to make sure their clients with 9-5s were prioritized

It’s honestly such a common occurrence for me with services that the person is running late and it’s so frustrating but when you are late there a late fee. Makes it make sense

I don’t get how they don’t know how long the same damn styles they do everyday will take. You build in a buffer for like 15 mins of lateness and build your schedule from there.
