A white BMW crashed through the side of New Park Pizza in Howard Beach, Queens, on Thursday afternoon, injuring two people and leaving a large hole in the restaurant. "I heard bang bang bang. It startled me. I looked. I went flying a little bit. Landed on my back. Got up. Looked, it was a white BMW that crossed this way," eyewitness Frederico Ariola said. The BMW went from the parking lot into the restaurant's back dining area when the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brake, smashing through the brick wall. The vehicle ended up almost entirely inside the building. Before the vehicle was removed, authorities said a 68-year-old woman who was driving the car and a 73-year-old customer were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle's windshield was cracked by bricks that broke away during the crash.
