I miss when Stolas felt like he knew EXACTLY what he was doing to Blitzø, when it felt like he didn't care that what he was doing was wrong. I when he was introduced he felt like he was going to be a more antagonist character and I honestly think a dynamic of Blitz having to break free from Stolas starting way earlier as their arrangement gets more and more severe and Stolas holding on to any amount of power he can would have been far more compelling and would still better push the MAIN PLOT THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE RISE OF I.M.P

They literally had to make a new version of the pilot because the original pilot didn’t match the “current vision” of the show. To the point that the original pilot had to be considered not canon for the longest time because Stolas is written how he was originally supposed to be written, a side antagonist.

I actually liked stolas and blitzo’s relationship when it WAS extortion, it was genuinely interesting. It was season 2 that tried its best to make it “unproblematic” by saying “oh no it’s just a misunderstanding of what the dynamic is! See! They were childhood friends!” When it just made them rlly boring and ridiculous as a result.

I really really hate how this show treats women. Genuinely every major female character in this series exists to service the male characters. Who is Octavia without stolas? Who is loona without blitzo? At best you are left with a flat one note character without any depth or complexity. I really hope writers work on it this season. I liked the Millie episode (even though it was poorly written if I’m being honest) and I hope they actually plan on giving her a character arc and that one episode wasn’t all the development we’ll get for her

I think this is why Vivziepop’s shows just feel like fanfictions of themselves to me. It’s like she gets bored of her own premises for the plots so she basically abandons them and delves deeper into the self indulgent storylines about her favs she actually cares about, which is exactly what you do in fanfic but should NOT be done in the actual canon because then the show and the characters just feel like parodies of themselves and the story eats itself into nonsense

I always saw Stella as the other side of the same coin when it came to Stolas. she was also groomed into the Goetia bloodline, and had to use her body to birth an heir. while Stolas tried to make the best of a situation he hated to be in, she never did. she never tried to get close to him, foster a relationship with Octavia, or care about anything other then money. not everyone has to be deep and meaningful. at the end of the day she served her literary purpose
