@fightagainstfemicide: A 5-year-old intellectually disabled boy was found dead in a home itoday in Grafton. Emergency services and police arrived at a home in Grafton around 6:40 AM on Monday after a child was found unresponsive. CPR was performed, but the 5-year-old could not be revived and died at the scene. Police discovered that the boy and his siblings had allegedly been restrained inside sleeping bags with duct tape, which was also wrapped around their heads and used as blindfolds. Carers told detectives the tape was used to help the children sleep. The boy's father and stepmother, who were in the home at the time, have been interviewed by detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad and the Coffs and Clarence Police District. The family had been known to the New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), which had received a welfare concern referral regarding the child in 2025.
