You put this feeling into words perfectly, I always feel so weird like why do I miss people I don’t want in my life anymore? It’s just bc they knew a part of you that is in the past now - and it can sometimes be mistaken for nostalgia. Also I think it’s very human to want to hold onto the love we once had for someone but I’ve learned in recent years that sometimes it’s just healthier to do so from afar. Not everyone deserves that access to you

it is such a beautiful thing. my boyfriend and i very recently broke up but he wants to stay friends and still stay in contact, but i told him we need time apart before we can get to that point, and im so excited to be able to have that value and beauty of a friendship with both understanding yes, we have history, but it’s in the past and it’s all fond memories, but now we have a different relationship, and that’s a good thing.
