The same thing happens yearly on the Tulsequah River, who flows into the Taku River leading to Juneau Alaska. I observed the outflow flood in August of 1981. The lake behind the Tulsequah glacier lifts the ice and the lake flows out. I was working at an old abandoned mine on the side of the river. Before the outflow burst the river was a series of shallow braided streams across a mile wide gravel bed. When the flood was in full force the mile wide river was 10 feet deep going 30 miles an hour.
