@bbcnews: Would you know if someone’s glasses were recording you? Some venues are restricting smart glasses as concerns grow over people being filmed without knowing. #SmartGlasses #Privacy #Technology #BBCNews
somehow I don't think anyone would object to him using them

in my opinion, literally only people who are legally blind or visibly restricted should be able to access these glasses, there's literally no reason someone with full vision should have them

Even in Norway, where we are talking about a full ban on AI glasses they will be exempt for blind, just like guide dogs are allowed where dogs are not.

Then make them prescription only for blind people! Those are pervert glasses, and the constant surveillance shouldn’t be normalised.

the whole issue of them could have been easily avoided if meta made them so you couldn't save the footage from them anywhere, but they WANT the pervert market and the visually impaired are secondary to them

It would be like how stores say “no dogs except guide dogs”. When it’s accessibility for the user they should be allowed to use it, but otherwise you don’t really have a need, just record stuff on your phone

I dunno, it’s a weird debate. I’m on the side of if you’re in public you don’t really have a right to privacy but for venues that ban filming it’s a whole other issue. As for them being “pervy” their not seeing anything your eyes wouldn’t so like how does that aide you in being a creep?

i think they're too casual, they need to look different than regular glasses.

allow them a licence for wearing the glasses, very simple fix, if you require them for medical reasons just show the store or officer or whoever proof that you need them to function in your daily life

How are they perv glasses though? They record the very same thing your eyes see. Do we all have perv eyes now too?

so then allow glasses that help people find there way round but don't allow the ability to record it's NOT difficult

Ringo Tanuki :
Easy solution, make them prescription only, and you need the prescription to bring them into venues that have otherwise banned pervert glasses
