Birdman and Slim gave more than $225,000 to help hundreds of families pay rent in the city where they grew up. 🤝 In 2020, the brothers behind Cash Money Records donated the money to Forward Together New Orleans. The funds were designated to cover June rent for qualifying families in Harmony Oaks, Marrero Commons and Guste, communities connected to the former Magnolia, Calliope and Melpomene housing projects. Payments would go directly to landlords, covering the portion residents owed beyond existing assistance. Birdman spoke about giving back to working families living on the same streets where he and his brother grew up. Their record label had taken them far beyond New Orleans. This donation brought their success back home. “New Orleans made us and is part of who we are,” Slim said. - @browneyedgurl801
