50% success rate but I've never spoken different languages online so this was fun. In case auto-captions aren't working, here is the full transcript of the video (roughly translated to English): This is how I sound in different languages. Starting with, of course, English. English was my first language, along with another language I’ll speak next. I was born in California and then grew up in the Pacific Northwest, so my accent, I would say, follows that region. School, friends, whatever, I think I was always really defaulting to English. As a result, it’s my strongest language, it’s the language I feel the most comfortable in. My second language is Russian. I know my accent is very American. I learned Russian right when I started speaking English. My mom is Slavic so I only spoke Russian with her [growing up]. I also don’t know how to read or write, so that doesn’t help. I can maybe write the word “Nastya” my name… “Anastasia” I can’t write, the word is way too long. Perils of being bilingual from childhood, not using the second language nearly enough. The third is French, but not really, I’m sure you can tell. My husband is French and I spend a lot of time with his family, my in laws. I understand a lot but I don’t speak much, clearly. I learned French in college, but I forgot everything because I don’t do my practice… I don’t think that’s even correct but whatever. Finally, Spanish. Unfortunately, I spent five years learning Spanish… I don’t remember anything. All I can really say is: “Hi my name is Anastasia. How are you?” I could write essays in Spanish at one point. It’s all stored in here, but none of it can get pulled out.
