I believe she did the same as the Morrell and the Bradley- she either rolled and broke or broke and rolled, and someone tried to open that door.

I think something similar to what happened to the Carl D happened on the Fitz just nobody was prepared for it im not an expert but I believe she split on the surface and went down quickly and the bridge and possibly the whole ship lost power so they couldn't ask for help unlike the Carl D and that less crew got out and none of them survived in the water
