@keepingupwithkarla_: My BMI was a risk factor. Not a limit on what my body could achieve. So many of us are scare mongered into thinking a bigger body means GD, preeclampsia, unable to see the baby on a scan, instant judgement, blood clots, high BP and so on BUT these things happen to “normal” BMI girls, these things can happen to anyone! Your pre weight may be a factor as to why you get extra care but that’s all it should be. Extra care. Not extra judgement.
With my second pregnancy I was 8 stone heavier and had no health issues during pregnancy , this pregnancy 8 stone lighter I have gd, high blood pressure etc! Weight and bmi does not indicate how your health is at all! X

I'm 12 weeks and I've been told to start asprin due to my BMI, I'm honestly dreading my 12 week NHS scan. I've had two perfectly normal scan experiences privately but I just know the NHS is going to make me feel less human and that just feels so disappointing.

I’ve had all this, seems like everyone is adamant I’m going to get pre eclampsia or gestational diabetes but I’m almost 38 weeks now and not a single weight related issue or complication has come about, hoping the next few weeks will remain that way ☺️xx

I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and I have a high bmi and I’m high risk for blood clots so I’m having to inject myself everyday until I have my baby 😩 I do also have high blood pressure also but they do scare you a lot more when your a plus size lady and it’s not fair 🥰

I'm pregnant, high BMI and sadly I have had GDM and high BP in both my previous pregnancies and this time its twins. I know everyone attributes it to my weight despite the fact id probably have both regardless.
