@toltutufa: If you’re not having these conversations with your children, someone else is. And you might not like what they’re teaching them. You don’t have to know everything. You just have to be someone your child feels safe asking. Silence doesn’t stop curiosity. It just sends it somewhere else.
She is right… my parents never talked to me about this as I’m sure a lot of peoples parents didn’t… I leant everything from friends at high school and was made fun of for not knowing … please talk to teens about this

This is so true. When I was in my teens,I came across an article on Menopause. I asked my mom about after reading the article,he answer was quite dismissive and opposite of what I read. I now realize that she didn't know enough, but yah,we are not in control of what our kids learn if we don't educate them.

since last year April, here in South Africa the children learn about sex in grade 4. and 5 before even puberty. personally I feel it's the parents place not someone else.

a huge problem for girls being raised by single fathers who also don't mention the topic out discomfort, this is the leading cause of teen pregnancy.

Im a firm believer in beginning age appropriate sex education as early as 5-6yrs old. I think kids should know at least the proper terminology so they can clearly communicate potential issues. then as they get older divulge age appropriate information. 🤷♀️
