Balcha Aba Nefso, also known as Fitawrari Balcha Safo, was one of Ethiopia’s greatest military leaders and patriots. He was born in 1863 in Hadiya, southern Ethiopia. Growing up in a time of political instability and foreign threats, he developed a fearless spirit, deep discipline, and a strong love for his country. From humble beginnings, Balcha rose through courage and ability to become one of Emperor Menelik II’s most trusted generals. His greatest achievement came during the historic Battle of Adwa in 1896, where Ethiopian forces defeated the Italian colonial army. Balcha led his troops with unmatched bravery, playing a crucial role in protecting Ethiopia’s independence. This victory made Ethiopia a global symbol of African resistance and pride. After Adwa, Balcha was appointed governor of Sidamo and other southern regions, where he worked to strengthen security, unity, and national stability. Known for his strict leadership and honesty, he defended the poor, fought corruption, and enforced justice. Though firm, his rule aimed to protect the dignity of the people and the sovereignty of Ethiopia. Balcha Aba Nefso was ethnically Oromo, and he remained proud of his roots while dedicating his life to Ethiopia as a whole. He believed that unity, not division, was the strength of the nation. When Italy invaded Ethiopia again in 1935, Balcha, though already old, refused to bow to colonial rule. He remained loyal to his country until his final days. He died on 6 November 1936 in Agemja, during the Italian occupation. His life was a story of courage, sacrifice, loyalty, and patriotism. Balcha Aba Nefso did not fight for power or wealth he fought for freedom, dignity, and the future of Ethiopia .#fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #ethiopian_tik_tok🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹 #oromotiktok #onelove #ethiopianhistory ..
