I’ve been watching ATLA since I was 5 years old. Now I’m 21. This show literally saved me while growing up in poverty, dealing with severe depression, fighting physical health problems, and losing people I loved. Because I was raised on the original show, now I don't personally enjoy the direction of the this sequel, nothing about it at all. It honestly feels like Seven Havens is forcing LGBTQ+ representation far too much. It seems like every single scene and almost everyone in the city of Ellora is LGBTQ+, even my friend who is gay noticed this. Alright, we got Jae and Datu, but why is there so much of it? What is this series even about anymore? Is it about the lore and the bending, or just this? like everyone? Come on, Yes, there are actual homophobic and mysoginistic people out there, but that’s like 2% of the population. Cop out harder. and there are other series as well with lgbtq characters but it aint all about sexuality putting too much effort on that, people like me wouldn't collectively obsess over actually cool well-written, funny, and badass characters like Raymond Holt from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Jesus&Aaron from The Walking Dead, Oberyn Martell from Game of Thrones, or Ambrose Spellman from Sabrina. They are masculine, hilarious, and absolute legends. alright we got the message there are lgbtq couples in seven havens but in every scene we need to see it?.
