@cryptogardener: Why Banks Need Ripple’s Bridge to Blockchain A blockchain alone does not connect a bank's existing systems to digital assets. Banks also need ways to move between traditional money and crypto, safeguard assets, and use stablecoins and tokenization. In this CNBC interview, Ripple president Monica Long explains that connecting layer—and says it is what Ripple provides. That is Ripple's role as a company: building and delivering infrastructure financial institutions can integrate into their operations. Ripple is an early mover, founded in 2012, and has worked to develop real-world use cases around XRP. XRP is the native digital asset of the independent, open-source XRP Ledger—not a share in Ripple. The key distinction: needing a bridge to blockchain does not mean every bank must choose Ripple, or that every Ripple product uses XRP. The opportunity is in making the technology useful.
