Be grateful for the smallest things in your life. We focus so much on the unnecessary big things that we forget how blessed we truly are with the smallest everyday things, the important things. Stop comparing yourself to others, focus on you doing better for yourself day by day! If possible have at least 1 person that is positive and a good person you can vent to. And don't give up ever because your life depends on it, get back up each time you fall, pray, work on yourself constantly daily, pray, remain humble and be kind to others!!! If you can't do it yourself do it for your kids, your wife, your parents, grandparents, and if you don't have anyone in your life do it for inner child!!! 🫂

*sighs* I made it through. The darkness can be all consuming. It can feel like you are out at sea and struggling for air as everything pulls at your feet. The darkness is both terrifying and tempting. It is not the answer. It never is. My story is my story. I tried. Several times. I failed in the attempts. I kept moving the goalposts to the next goal. I spoke to some people. I spoke to professionals. I put one foot in front of the other and focused on the people that care about me most in the world and I care exactly the same for them. I kept walking. The weight bearing me down got less and less with little things (family, friends, a job I enjoy, hobbies, etc) each step felt lighter. In the moment I did not see this. I was still numb and cold. The journey took however long it took for me to get to this side. There is no time limit you can compare your own journey to. So do not try. … the problem is… I am no longer scared of the darkness. I spent longer than I will ever admit down there. I know every nook and cranny. I have walked almost every dark corridor. I have stared each and every one of my demons in the face and smiled back at them as they shrink into the shadows. Suicide is not the answer. We become stronger with every scar life gives us. You are never alone and the darkness is just a collection of shadows created to scare you. Break them down. Talk to someone. Bring the shadows into the light to examine them more closely… most of them will shrink or disappear. You are so much stronger than you know. 🫂

I got a service dog but god called last year. So now I'm back where I started, and it's harder this time.

Realizing that when I failed my attempt life and time doesnt stop. If I succeeded I would become a memory. So I pushed and pushed struggling until my first son was born. I still struggle but my 2 boys are my anchors.

If I’m being honest the GYM played a major factor in pulling my self out that that slump and having a very close nit of friends that let me vent without making feel a way about speaking on the same thing

I started being kind to myself. in the smallest ways 1st, taking my self out to dinner, making time for fun hobbies, taking care of myself. if I have learned one thing in life its that no one on this planet can hurt me like i can. I can sit alone in despair dwelling on all my mistakes and the evil of the world as it befalls me. or I can wake up the next day and enjoy the sunrise, or find something to smile about. be kind to yourself. the rest will fall into place.

reflect on your moments of life , both dark and bright then look at your younger siblings or children and remember how much they're counting on you and you'll see that the fight is worth it ❤️

If you have siblings that truly care about you try spending more time with them it might not heal you fully but it does bring back memories of how close you might have been when you guys were little. When we grow up we tend to drift apart from them and see them less and less… so maybe go spend time with them and it will open your eyes a bit… thankfully my brothers still live in the same area as me so I get to see them once in a while…

Just sit with it and acknowledge it, you better understand things when you take time with them rather than trying to move away from things that are seen as “bad” when you can be at peace within yourself you can be happy everywhere else regardless of scenarios

I haven't fully healed but, I use the pain as a fuel and work alone, no friends or partners just solo.

Yeah so taking anti depressants made me feel worse honestly. I stayed the course till they finished and I chose to stop hating my life and myself just enough that I could move forward. I didn’t really tell people what I was struggling with, I hate the phrase “I understand” because you don’t. You aren’t living my perspective. Nobody will understand you. But you can learn to understand yourself and be that force that pulls you through it. I developed an unyielding will to not feel that low again.

Since it goes nowhere, I've learned to love with it, but it that I'm glorifying it, just letting it know I don't be belong to it

What makes you think that we get through it? Depression and Addiction aren’t things you fix. They’re always there. You might go for a stretch and be ok, and hold it back. One bad day, and you’re there again.

My son would have never understood why I did it. The pain it would have caused him is why it never happened.
