That’s my thing, these transplants aren’t romanticizing authentic NYC culture or people, they’re romanticizing the white women they saw on TV (e.g. Sex & The City, Girls) that were also transplants. Like how you living your best Carrie Bradshaw life, if you in Brooklyn?!? 😅 They move into neighborhoods for trends and aesthetics, instead of respectfully assimilating into communities with aligned cultural values. They are forcing us to experience the same mundane lifestyle they think they’re running away from in their hometowns. The craziest part is they’re erasing everything while simultaneously cosplaying the native New Yorkers they displace.

It’s boring af now the rich ruined it! when I was there in the 80’s it was artistic there were underground parties there was so much to do! you could literally have a second flat out there for next to nothing!
