in 3rd grade i once wrote a creative writing piece about a man’s suicide. the teachers contacted my mom and scolded her for letting me know about things like that. they were then informed my grandpa had just killed himself and i was just a child coping. they got quite a talking to 😭

on a similar note, one time in like 6th grade, i really needed a drink of water but the teacher wouldn’t let us leave. so i wrote on a piece of paper “i need a drink” and forgot it in the class. well…they called me to the principals office an hour later to ask me what i meant. they thought i meant an alcoholic beverage…WHAT?

In eighth grade a kid wrote a story about a 💣 in the toilet and he was asked if he would 💣 the school and he said "yes I hate school" but he was just asked not to write violent fantasies anymore

Had a similar situation happen to me in 3rd grade, the teacher gave us a writing prompt about a girl’s car breaking down in the middle of nowhere. At the time I was REALLY into the hunger games books and I wrote about the girl getting a bow and quiver out of the trunk of her car and setting up a tent on the edge of the woods. As the story progressed she went hunting deeper in the woods and accidentally shot a kid with her bow thinking it was an animal, and instead of calling the police SHE COOKED AND ATE HIM. I don’t know what was going through 8 year old me’s mind but I was forced to talk to the dean and he called my parents 😭

In eight grade we had to pick what we related to more and other people got like pretzels vs cupcakes, cat vs dog, I got GUILT VS SHAME. They called my parents and we had a meeting about whatever i wrote but LOOK AT MY OPTIONS
