@darcidubreuil: An ICE officer shot Wilber Rafael Garces Perez in Austin, Texas. Now, there’s a serious question about cooperation with the local investigation. According to reporting on Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis, the Austin Police Department requested evidence directly from federal authorities but had not received it as of the reported update. APD is conducting an independent investigation into the shooting, with plans to present its findings to Travis County District Attorney José Garza. Think about that. Local authorities are investigating a shooting involving a federal law enforcement officer, but they say they haven’t received evidence they requested from the federal government. That raises important questions about transparency, cooperation between law enforcement agencies, and accountability. To be clear, the lack of evidence sharing does not, by itself, establish that anyone committed a crime or intentionally obstructed an investigation. But it absolutely warrants scrutiny. Federal law enforcement officers are not automatically immune from state criminal laws simply because they wear a federal badge. Why haven’t the requested materials been provided? And when will the public get answers? Accountability requires transparency. #fdt #maga #politics #political #politicstiktok
