Cuz earlier warriors relied on shields because chainmail didn't protect every part of the body. By the 14th and 15th centuries, full plate armor offered much more protection.

Armour got to a point where arrows couldn’t penetrate it and the English longbow men at agincourt didn’t penetrate through the armour they got the horse and pulled the knights into there ranks and killed them or captured them to ransom

ye so bcs heavy armor protect against arrow specialy from range but archers aint stupid they started making armor-piercing arrowheads and stronger bows, so armor helped them close distance but less distance= deadlier arrows. ironic isnt it

At Agincourt the archers killed the horses with their bows, not the knights. They killed the knights in melee with swords, axes, bills, hammers etc.
