@mothershipsg: Born with congenital scoliosis, 17-year-old Sririta Phikun has always longed to walk upright and be treated like everyone else. “I didn’t want people to think I was weaker than them, and for them to judge me because I look different,” she said. After years of surgeries, including a high-risk operation on her 17th birthday, she is now able to walk upright. As she continues to recover, Sririta is looking forward to returning to school next year, learning to swim, and pursuing her dream of working in aviation or nursing.
