But the classroom still has 120 children under one teacher. The court case still takes 10 years. The youth still die from alcohol because hope has left them. Uganda is bleeding from corruption that we have normalized. Uganda is bleeding from unemployment we have made fashionable. Uganda is bleeding from leaders who hear but don't listen. Yet - even as she bleeds, she still wakes up. The mother goes back to the roadside. The driver goes back to the park. The student opens his book under a solar bulb. Uganda bleeds, yes. But Uganda still breathes. The question is not whether she is bleeding.
