@slowgermanattic: Some German verbs split in two. The verb stays in position 2, and the prefix jumps to the end of the sentence. Swipe through all 14 cards 👉 📌 The rule aufstehen → Ich stehe um 7 Uhr auf. Time, place and objects stay in the middle. The prefix goes last. 📌 Common separable verbs anrufen → Ich rufe dich an. einkaufen → Wir kaufen heute ein. mitkommen → Kommst du mit? aufmachen → Sie macht die Tür auf. fernsehen → Er sieht abends fern. anfangen → Der Kurs fängt um 9 Uhr an. aussteigen → Ich steige am Bahnhof aus. einladen → Sie lädt uns zur Party ein. abholen → Er holt seine Tochter ab. zurückkommen → Wir kommen um 6 Uhr zurück. 📌 Watch out ✅ anfangen and einladen change a → ä with du and er/sie/es: fängt, lädt. ✅ Even a long prefix like zurück goes to the end. ❌ Prefixes be-, ver-, er-, ent-, ge-, zer- never split: Ich verstehe das.
