@echoesoferin: #creatorsearchinsights 🇮🇪 Happy Birthday to The Big Fellow: Remembering General Michael Collins Today, we pause to honor the birth, life, and enduring legacy of one of Ireland’s greatest historical figures—General Michael Collins (born October 16, 1890). Born in Woodfield , near Clonakilty in County Cork, Collins grew from humble West Cork roots into a visionary leader, strategist, and statesman whose courage helped shape the foundation of modern Ireland. 🕊️ A Legacy of Courage and Commitment Michael Collins was more than just a military leader; he was a man driven by a profound love for his country and his people. Known affectionately as "The Big Fellow," his energy, intelligence, and resilience were legendary. From his pivotal role during the Easter Rising and the War of Independence to his immense logistical efforts behind the scenes, Collins gave everything he had to the dream of a free and sovereign Ireland. In the long run, the Irish nation will triumph." — Michael Collins 🌿 Remembering His Vision Though his life was tragically cut short at the young age of 31 at Béal na Bláth in 1922, his impact remains eternal. Collins envisioned an Ireland built on unity, progress, self-reliance, and fairness for all its citizens. Today, as we reflect on his legacy, we remember not only his bravery in times of struggle, but his devotion to creating a lasting peace and a brighter future for generations to come. 🕯️ Honor His Memory Today On his birthday, let us remember his extraordinary sacrifice, his unmatched devotion to duty, and his unwavering belief in the spirit of the Irish people. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. (May his faithful soul rest at the right hand of God.) Which aspect of Michael Collins' legacy or history inspires you the most today?
