It’s not how much the contracts are it’s the deferred contracts. 31 said contracts exist, the dodgers have 12 of them. So without it, they couldn’t afford the roster they have.

Owners collude to send Skubal to the Dodgers so they have a better case for a salary cap. Players collude and give small market teams easy road to WS so they have a better case for no salary cap. It's been so obvious.

I would think at least 75% of the players want a salary cap. They’ll do better by making the teams spread the money around like the other leagues. The top 10% or so won’t want it, but the majority will do better.

Will a salary cap happen? No. What's going to happen to the Dodgers and other high spending teams is that they don't need to draft players. These teams can lose draft picks for the first 20 rounds and then they can draft bottom of the barrel scraps afterwards in some newly added rounds for them.

If that’s the case, Collusion has ramifications. Chicago White Socks anyone. What a load of crap. It’s not a salary cap issue, it’s the deferred money in that contract issue. Make the salary cap a HARD CAP that you can’t cross, period. The big market teams can afford all the penalties handed out.
