Hmmm..I agree with all you presented, but the future must definitely include accountability for those who sought to destroy all our safe guards against an authoritarian government. We must reclaim the institutions that have been corrupted so badly that we can no longer put any trust in those who swore to protect our Constitution, our country, and us. We need new laws that will stop a wannabe dictator in his tracks no matter what political party he claims. We need consequences for those who failed in their duties to protect our Constitution or ignored court orders. We need a President that serves all Americans and not a collection of corrupt sycophants. I do not want another Congress that does not serve the best interests of our most vulnerable people. I do not want another felon or sexual predator in office, and I believe all you suggested cannot be accomplished with one still in office. I want an impeachment of the current President and "his loyalists". I want accountability and not another two years of hand wringing by politicians on any political party. I want leadership I can trust to fight for a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. At eighty years old, I am sick and tired of this political merry go round filled with ego driven women and men that is being pushed around and around by my wasted tax dollars! Enough is enough.

Thank you for this post connecting the dots on just how much goes into ensuring eveybody has true freedom of choice and an equal say in our government and society and explaining the importance of continually reassesing the efficacy of and improving the instituions, policies, systems and programs put in place to provide the services necessary to ensure everybody has that freedom of choice and equal say. Your focus on bringing humanity into our government and society to accomplish these goals is exactly the path we need to follow to move forward. Defiance til death!

I listened to a woman today say she had lost 28 lb. she didn't need to lose 28 lb. she just couldn't afford to eat. under Trump. her snap benefits were cut from $100 to $12. she described what she had in her pantry to eat until she gets paid again on November 3rd. I'm sure there are food pantries in her area, but she lives maybe 15 mi outside of town and can't drive so she's not able to take advantage of those. it made me start worrying that that same situation is going on right where I live. we have quite a few food pantries but if people can't get to them they can't take advantage of it.
