Not through what you desperately want to be true. Discernment asks: What is actually happening here? What are their actions showing me? Do I feel safe? Do I feel respected? Does this connection bring clarity or confusion? Am I listening to intuition—or projecting a story onto the situation? You can love someone and still know they are not healthy for you. You can feel a spiritual connection and still recognize that the relationship is not aligned. You can keep your heart open without handing someone unlimited access to it. That is discernment.
