Im so sick of people saying "you took out the loan, you should pay it back." We are not saying we won't make payments but damn, our wages aren't going up...should we not have a life like everyone else just because we got an education?

Don’t switch your payment plan yet. There’s some info floating around that they may not actually be able to force you off of the SAVE plan. Other people have been told they had a September deadline to switch, but they didn’t, and the website now shows December as their deadline. I think they can’t force you, but if you do change it, it’s considered voluntary. I think they just want everyone to believe that they can force you, and they play with your emotions to get you to believe it.

I decided to go back to school and take a couple online classes, so I don't have to deal with that BS at the moment. I may become a lifetime student at this point and I'm in my mid 30's

$92 cant even cover the interest. At $92 ur loans would be going up by hundreds every month.

All of yall talking about $92 is way too low and she would not have paid off the loan don’t understand the premise of PSFL…the rest would be forgive after 120 qualifying payments if she works for a certain agency for 10 years…this was specially made for people who work in lower paying government & non-profit jobs.

$92 is way to low for the balance on the loan.

They don’t expect that you can pay it. They just don’t care. I used to work in the student loan industry. They are currently preparing for a TON of people to default. When they do they will start garnishing wages and with holding tax refunds. It’s insane!

I managed a federal mental health grant program, and I only made $55,000. Where in the HELL do they think ANY of us can afford that.

Why would you take out that much in loans to get a low paying job? At 92/month you are not even covering the interest, your principal would be increasing monthly. It would never be paid off

I’m not sure why not many people are pointing out the obvious here. You got the loan, you pay it back. The $689 payment is absolutely reasonable with your balance. Now…the interest could possibly be adjusted for student loans to make these things actually payback-able. Trump didn’t make you get the loan. Biden didn’t either. You did.

Exactly why social work degrees were pulled from funding! You can’t make enough to justify the degree!
