• FAMILIAR SPIRITS • " 7 more shall return unto thee " * NO POWER / NO PURPOSE ( where are you now ? ) 11 Then said the Lord unto me, Pray not for this people for their good. 12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence. ( Jeremiah 11-12 ) ( 14:10-16 ) The Lord calls the Jews this people, not (( HIS )) people. Imagine that. They had forsaken his service, therefore he would punish them according to their sins. He forbade Jeremiah to plead for them. The FALSE PROPHETS were the most CRIMINAL. The Lord pronounces condemnation on them but as the people loved to have it so, they were ( not to escape judgments. ) False teachers encourage men to expect peace and salvation, without repentance, faith, conversion, and holiness of life. But those who believe a lie must not plead if for an excuse. They shall feel what they say they will not fear. Sound familiar ? I mean, have you been taking a good look around lately ? Things are changing aren't they ? If G-D be one of love, mercy and grace, long suffering etc. Is He and does He not have to be one of judgments as well ? When G-d brought discipline or judgment to Judah through drought, it also affected animals and nature around them. Their sincere and sustained repentance would not only benefit themselves, but also the natural world. So see, consequences of sin in our lives not only effect us, but affects everything around us. Has The Lord not created us ? Does not the creator know His Creation ? Repentance, confession, humility before G-d that is only in the mind ( or heart ) but not in genuine action to Him is of ... NO EFFECT / NO PURPOSE It must go beyond a feeling 🔥 The repentance described in ( Jeremiah 14:7-9 ) was wonderful, but not real. But let's talk about us... Oh, to be able to feel the joy of realness again. Especially when we feel at times The Lord is no longer REAL in our life. O how dreadful is the state of that people in reference to whom the Lord says to his ministers, Pray not for them or what amounts nearly to a prohibition, withholds from his ministers the spirit of prayer and intercession on behalf of the people. You got to know prayer is very powerful ! Now it just GOT REAL, REAL QUICK 🔥 The ( 3 ) items .... sword, famine, and pestilence were the regular accompaniment of war and are referred to several ( 7 ) times in the OT. The prophet urged excuses for the people, and cried for mercy upon them, and that persistently. Again and again Jehovah replied, showing His servant the uselessness of all such praying. So my friend, it is as well with us even today. It may very well be we are operating only through righteous prayers past from someone who loved us and believed in us and the power of prayer. Which begs the question..... Who is praying for us now ? Who is lamenting over our life ? If we are no longer praying for ourselves, we are surely not praying for others. Is it to late ? Only G-D knows.... But I will tell you this.. The false prophets who spoke words of peace and safety when it was a time to repent and prepare for judgment would themselves be special targets of the sword and famine to come. Remember the consequences of sin we talked about ? Also are consequences for speaking a word that did not come from Him. So I ask ourselves here today. " What time is it within ourselves ? " Is it a time for peace for some ? Maybe for some it's a time of repentance ? Maybe it's a time of judgment for others ? True Peace will come when The Prince Of Peace returns. But not before His Judgements, that leads to repentance. It reminds me of something I heard when I was younger ... " we can do this the easy way or the hard way “ Sometimes the easy way is the hardest to take.❤️
