I my husband said something to the neighbor across the road from us for this same thing. Mind you it was a ditch line I cleaned out and our trees but he mowed and blew his hill side after us and he blew all of his stuff on the side we just cleaned out. He wasn’t rude to him or anything but we have to keep the ditch line cleaned out or it floods us. So he just said yeah just let us know whenever you are ready to do your yard I’ll wait a couple of days and then do ours so when you dump all of your stuff in out ditch line we won’t have to do it twice

we have no Theresa in our yard. It was a new build and the trees that were around us were dead so we had them removed and neighbors on both sides of us and across the street have trees and every year their leaves end up all in our yard and we have to clean them up.

Eeesh, I would put up cameras. Go over the speak to them, and ask them to come over to help pick up the leaves and grill some burgers after. Just hope for the best, and if not; then you got cameras for proof in the future.

I would do my specialty....passive aggressive. I would call and ask if next year we could coordinate so that I did my leaves after he dumped his leaves and not have to start over after spending the whole weekend cleaning up.

I had a neighbor that would plow his driveway into our yard. So basically made our pretty white yard full of dirty snow. I never said anything.

If your tree falls and partially lands on your neighbors yard, according to home owners insurance, you’re responsible for the portion on your property and the neighbor is responsible for cleaning up anything that landed in their side. Same with leaves.

Our neighbors at our old house did this- We used a leaf blower and blew TS right back to them and made sure it wasn't in a neat pile.

interesting situation in my neighborhood right now... neighbor took a chainsaw and cut down in the roots of a tree on the property line, tree fell a few days later and has done quite a bit of damage to the other neighbor's property and yard. Neighbor with chainsaw will not help with any of the damage and suggests they file a claim with insurance. Neighbor with chainsaw also cut down a tree on his property about 7 years ago and damaged my fence and would not do anything but say we should file a claim. ALSO....my husband and I watched neighbor with chainsaw get served with a lawsuit for property damage (for a renovation he had been working on) last night while walking the dog and have been laughing ever since!

If he knows me, he is gifting me with mulch and I'd probably make him a pie or something. If he doesn't know and is being a dick, I'd go over and scream at him. And keep the free mulch.

Technically if they land in the neighbors yard, the neighbor should clean them up. However, if the tree is Scott's, it's super annoying that the neighbor has to clean up leaves from a tree that doesn't belong to him. We do our best to clean up the leaves from our trees that fall into our neighbors yards. Maybe scott should offer to do that.

Honest I have several neighbors with trees that wreak havoc on my property/lawn. One blows from approx 100 ft away and the others above the fence line. Neither have pretty leaves to give us. I just clean it up. Reading these comments if any of the trees fall it would be my responsibility, heck to the no. I would go after their homeowners insurance. My best advice to the homeowner either clean the leaves yourself or cut down the tree. Maybe because I have watch too many horrible neighbor shows that start out small and turn 💀.

It's just like if a tree falls on your property from the neighbors yard. On your property your responsibility not the neighbors. Invest in a leaf blower and blow them right back over if it continues.

Our neighbor has one tree in his backyard, it’s a messy, garbage tree (it’s an invasive species) it sits just on the other side of our fence and just the overhanging branches have made a nightmare of our deck and gutters. It has to be cleaned off 2-3x’s a day and the gutters have to be cleared every couple weeks, it never truly loses every leaf because they’re so small. It started dropping early this year, I’m sweeping, power blower-ing, and nearly breaking my neck when the deck is wet (always cuz it’s fall). Neighbor hasn’t a clue, I truly don’t think he’d notice if I chopped it down. 😂😂😂 Can’t very well expect him to clean up my side.

is there only one tree in the neighborhood? We don't have trees but our yard is full of every type of leaf. the wind blows from all directions. The neighbour's a crank, i wouldn't escalate but he's in the wrong for dumping them back on you.

But if it’s his tree they are his leaves I’m with the neighbour on this why is the neighbour clearing leaves from a tree that’s not his and possibly doesn’t want in his yard but maybe Scott could offer to clean them up instead of the neighbour dumping them over the fence

Anything over the property line into the neighbors yard is the neighbors responsibility that neighbor could cut every tree branch that is over that line he can cut it off regardless of how the owner of the tree feels so therefore, he is responsible for everything that falls into his yard… And I would think that the wind blowing and pulling leaves off of a tree is an act of God and any acts of God are no one's responsibility (unless you were told branch was dead and it needs to be cut down you didn't and it caused damage) but leaves.. everybody's responsible for the leaves of the trees when they fall
