If you’re interested, watch until the end. This is the Nikon D3300 and the Nikon Z6. I’m taking the exact same photo with both cameras. The settings are identical except for ISO: unfortunately, the D3300 is at ISO 200, while the Z6 is at ISO 100. With a small crop, the difference isn’t very noticeable. However, when I zoom in heavily on the icon, the difference becomes huge. This could be due to the Nikkor 55-200mm lens, or perhaps because the polarizing filter isn’t screwed directly onto the lens but mounted a short distance in front of it. The filter diameter is larger than the lens, though, so I doubt that’s the reason for the loss of sharpness. In any case, I’ll continue these comparisons and will also test without any filters at all, so nothing interferes with the cameras and lenses performing at their full potential. Both images are 24 megapixels, by the way. Overall, I’m satisfied with the photos, but I’ll figure out the cause of this lack of sharpness. It could simply be that the age of the D3300 is starting to show.
