Update #5 (as of 10/2/26) I received great news!!! Mandatory orientation is on 10/5/26!!! I was accepted into the LPN-RN for the Summer of 2027!!! The Lord is good!!! The program runs May 27 -May 28! One step closer to my dream to serve our community as a Fight Nurse!!!! Update #4 (as of 8/1/26) Today’s the DAY!!! I just submitted my application for the LPN-RN Bridge Program! Update #3 (as of 3/7/26) Background: I’m an LPN currently working in memory care, long term, and rehab; mostly night shift! After much prayer and deliberation, and after a delayed 2nd career due to Brain tumor surgery in 2017, (1st being 20 yrs in the USCG as a GMC), I have decided to reapply for the RN program in August 2026! The main purpose for clinicals is not a new concept: “To act without knowing how you function is not good; and if you rush ahead, you will miss your goal.” Mishlei (Pro) 19 : 2 CJB https://bible.com/bible/1275/pro.19.2.CJB PSA: it takes 2 kinds of patients/patience to be a nurse… one in the bed and one in the head; and that will never change! Remember… It will ALWAYS be too early to quit…! The longer I serve the Lord with gladness and the more I come into His courts with praise (Psalm 100)… the easier it becomes for me to process that life’s pesky setbacks were in fact Divine appointments… the entire time! I took my ACLS, BLS INSTRUCTOR, and my next goal is to take a PALS Cert to add to my toolbox! I’m 64 years young! My dream is to be a flight nurse this side of Heaven!
