@kathyatthebeach: We talk a lot about the adjustment part of retirement — the weirdness, the identity shifts, the quiet, the things nobody warned us about. But I want to hear the other side too. Not the giant bucket-list moment. The ordinary one. The coffee you finally drank while it was hot. The Tuesday afternoon walk. The Sunday night without dread. The nap you didn’t have to explain. 😂 What was the little moment that made you think: “Yep. This was worth it.” #retirement #retirementreflections #newchapter #retirementlife #retiredlife
I can finally take care of myself, put myself first. I worked 23 years as an RN and spent many days taking care of others when I was sick or in pain. That takes a heavy toll, physically and emotionally. Now I can take care of me. I matter too💛

I retired 3 years ago and I absolutely hate it. It's like wanting to die for me. very boring.

every Sunday night even after 3 years my husband and I look at each other and laugh and say don't have to get ready to go to work tomorrow. also the best part is we spend all of our time together now it's pretty great.

I’m not continuing stressing about my 24 employees I had to manage, meetings, schedules, and missing out on family stuff. But mostly not having to set an alarm clock!! 39 years of it and I’ve been free 7 months now. No regrets [Heartwarming].

One thing that annoyed me but I nonetheless got fairly good at was the constant politicking to get things done. There was always somebody or something standing in the way of getting the job done right. I’m happy now in retirement to put all that behind me. No politics now. No arguments. Just living.
