The 35 hours is from Houston to La, Houston to Seattle is. 71-72 hours . Roughly 3 days sitting in a seat or for an extra $6500 can have a private room with a bathroom, or a roomette for an extra $2500 above ticket price .

It’s not one single train though. Sometimes you have to get off of one train in the middle of nowhere, trek 3 miles by foot to try to catch the next train, and hope you’ll make it on time. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

The ferry doesn't go to Anchorage. You'll need to disembark at Whittier and hop back on a train to reach Anchorage and the Interior.
